Over hill and dale, through rich green forests and high up – the region around the Aparthotel Panorama is superb for mountain biking. We’re not going to deny that riding up to the peak is somewhat tiring but it is definitely worth it! Once up the top you enjoy an indescribably beautiful view. Then you whizz back down to the valley with panache.

 

DOWNHILL & FREERIDE

Not only in winter: Freeride makes Kronplatz to THE meeting point for sporty people and outdoor freaks in summer too. Freeriders have the possibility to bike on 6 different trails. If you don’t feel confident enough on the bike yet, you can book some hours with a qualified Freeride Guide. There are many rental shops around the Kronplatz where you can rent the bikes and the appropriate protectors. To get on the top of the Kronplatz you can use the cable cars of Riscone, Valdaora, Furkelpass and San Vigilio di Marebbe. Anyone who does not need quite as much adrenaline and would rather be out and about on two wheels instead of hiking, can also find a cycle path close to the hotel. This is fun for everyone, for children as well.

Other summer activities besides hiking in Val Pusteria/Pustertal

However, you can experience much more besides cycling and hiking in Val Pusteria/Pustertal. For all adrenaline junkies we recommend a rafting tour on the Aurino/Ahr, the river that winds through Valle di Tures ed Aurina/Tauferer Ahrntal. Don’t worry, you’re not left on your own here! Another indescribable experience is a tandem flight. You glide high up in the air and see your holiday home from above. You have the opportunity of paragliding on Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, where you start your breathtaking flight on its peak.

 

All water lovers have the opportunity to pursue their hobby in the Brunico/Bruneck or Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers outdoor pools. In the holiday resort of Gais there is also a small swimming lake, colloquially called a “Baggalocke”.
