Travelling to Aparthotel Panorama by car
Our holiday apartments in Gais in South Tyrol, which together with the rooms and suites make up the Aparthotel Panorama, are located in Val Pusteria/Pustertal in the east of the country. We describe how to get to our hotel in Gais in South Tyrol by car here.
If you are coming from the Brennero/Brenner pass, take the A22 as far as the Val Pusteria/Pustertal exit. Leave the motorway here and follow the SS49 road until Brunico/Bruneck where you then take the Brunico/Bruneck West exit. Follow the signs to Valle Aurina/Ahrntal. You will reach Gais after approx. five kilometres. At the roundabout take the first exit that leads into the village centre. Continue straight on until the fire station. Turn left here and follow the road until you reach our holiday apartments in Gais in South Tyrol.
If you are coming from Lienz, cross the Italian border and follow the SS49 road as far as Brunico/Bruneck. Follow the signs to Valle Aurina/Ahrntal.
If you are driving over Passo di Resia/Reschenpass, you will enter Val Venosta/Vinschgau from there, heading towards Merano/Meran and Bolzano/Bozen. Take the motorway here and continue on the A22 into Val Pusteria/Pustertal and then onto Brunico/Bruneck and Gais.
If you are coming from Switzerland over the Ofenpass, you enter the Münstertal, where you pass the Italian border. Continue through Tubre in Val Monastero/Taufers im Münstertal on the SS41 main road as far as Glorenza/Glurns and then onto Merano/Meran. From there you can get to Bolzano/Bozen on the fast road. Take the A22 as far as the Val Pusteria/Pustertal exit and follow the SS49 road until Brunico/Bruneck and then continue onto Gais.
Travelling to Gais by train and bus
You can easily reach Aparthotel Panorama in Gais even without your own car. Travel by train to Bruneck and continue from there by public bus to Gais. The "Gais Dorf" bus stop is approximately 600 metres from our aparthotel and can easily be reached on foot.
During your stay, you can also use public transport for excursions to Bruneck, the Ahrntal valley and other destinations in the surrounding area.
Kronplatz Guest Pass – explore South Tyrol by public transport
All our guests receive the Kronplatz Guest Pass. We send it to you by email before your arrival, so you can already use the Guest Pass for your journey to us as well as throughout your stay. To receive it before arrival we need all Guests Data in advance, alternatively we will deliver the Guest Pass after Check In.
The Guest Pass allows you to use public transport in South Tyrol, making it easy to leave your car parked during your holiday.
Do you need a car for a holiday in Gais?
Having your own car during your stay at Aparthotel Panorama is convenient, but you do not need to use it every day. Walking and hiking routes start directly in Gais, for example along the Aurino river towards Uttenheim or Bruneck. A supermarket, bakery, butcher, post office, bars, restaurants and a bistro are also located in the village and can be reached on foot.
Thanks to the nearby bus stop and the Kronplatz Guest Pass, you can also reach numerous destinations in the surrounding area by public transport. For individual excursions and destinations further afield, having your own car naturally offers additional flexibility.
Free parking at Aparthotel Panorama
If you arrive by car, free parking is available at Aparthotel Panorama. You can park your vehicle either in our outdoor parking area or in the underground garage. One free parking space for one vehicle is available per accommodation unit.
Please note that Aparthotel Panorama currently does not have its own charging station for electric vehicles. But there are 3 parking spots in our garage with 3 regular electric sockets, where E-Car Owners can charge their vehicles free of charge.
Travelling to South Tyrol by plane
You can also travel to South Tyrol by air. If you arrive at Bolzano Airport, we will be happy to provide contact details for local taxi companies on request, allowing you to arrange an individual transfer from the airport to Gais. Please note that these are external taxi companies and the transfer service is not operated directly by the aparthotel.
A peaceful location with everything within easy reach
Aparthotel Panorama is located in Gais near Bruneck, in a convenient position between the Puster Valley and the Ahrntal valley. Bruneck is around 10 minutes away by car, while the Kronplatz lifts and the Speikboden ski area can each be reached in approximately 15 minutes.
This makes Gais a convenient base for your holiday in South Tyrol: you can enjoy the peaceful village setting while reaching numerous hiking areas, attractions and winter sports destinations without long journeys.
